There’s a powerful verse in Habakkuk that Christi had postered on her bedroom wall as a little girl. The verse itself, Habakkuk 2:1, talks about standing at a watchpost and positioning oneself on top of the tower to see what God has to say. This imagery is a reflection also of how we believe God calls us to stand at the watchpost of our family, our marriage, and our children, hearing what God has to say, watching for the enemies that seek to steal, kill, and destroy even the slightest bit of joy in our families. Unfortunately, all too often, when we see an enemy warring against us, already tired and exhausted from the daily grind of life, we take cover and hide.
In this episode, we discuss chapter 4 of our new book, Famous at Home. We talk about the importance of paying attention from our watchposts, and the question we’re left with after the episode is, “What are you hiding from?”

Love your podcast and this episode! Looking forward to getting your new book! I can relate to so many things you talk about. As a busy mom, just about your ages I feel it all. I too, am trying to build my prayer life and honestly, as a practicing Catholic, have only recently learned about spiritual warfare. When you talk about being a prayer warrior outside your sons bedroom, can you talk about that? Can you give us a demonstration of what that would sound like? I’ve recently heard about the power of “fervent prayer” – can’t remember if you guys talked about it or heard it on a different podcast, but honestly Im not sure what that looks or sounds like. Thank you!
This is such a great comment! Thank you for listening in. That evening, in particular, I used John Eldredge’s daily prayer of freedom outside his room to evict a spirit of fear and replace it with peace and truth. Eldredge has an app we use with those prayers called the Wild at Heart app. He also has a great book on this called Moving Mountains! You have me wanting to do an episode on this specifically!
